Bubble Bobble Part 2 is a game in the Bubble Bobble series. While it was never released in the arcade, two versions of the game were developed independently from each other (for the NES and Game Boy formats), with each game receiving a different story line as a result. The Game Boy version is known in Japan as Bubble Bobble Junior While the original Bubble Bobble was a hit on the NES shortly after its release in the United States, the sequel was too late. Not only was the gameplay more mediocre, but the cart was also one of the last made for the NES before developers began shifting their attention to the Super Nintendo. As a result, obtaining one was unlikely unless visiting a rental store that happened to be selling them; as Taito's games were reportedly more plentiful at these outlets. This is why Bubble Bobble 2 is highly collectable.
